Worth the Wait

The Story Behind the Song

[/op_liveeditor_element]
[op_liveeditor_element data-style=””][text_block style=”style_1.png” align=”left” top_margin=”5″]This is a song about having faith, not from a religious standpoint, but from a karmic standpoint.  We’ve all been burned from time to time, whether in a relationship, or a job, etc…and everyone tells us to “hang in there” reassuring us that we’ll find someone or something great soon.  And although this song has a romantic element to it, it’s really kind of a metaphor about being stuck in limbo, either career-wise or relationship-wise.  Taking the time to find out what you really want is more important than settling just for the sake of having something now. Being 100% happy is worth the wait, especially when it comes to relationships. There’s no rush.  Don’t sell yourself short.  When the right thing comes along, you’ll know it, and it’ll make everything and everyone else pale in comparison.[/text_block][/op_liveeditor_element]

[op_liveeditor_element][text_block]

I never saw the sun, seemed the sky was always grey
Had a heart I locked away without a key
I was drifting like a beggar, looking lost and out of place
Had a cold and empty space inside of me

Never saw it coming, no I didn’t have a clue
I was on my way to nothing, til I found my way to you

I know that good things can take a little time
But baby you were worth the wait
I’ve spent a lifetime just waiting for a sign
And what I finally found in you, I have to say
Was worth the wait

Always felt like I was drowning, like a sailor lost at sea
And every ship they sent for me just passed me by
Never thought I’d ever make it, yeah I thought the world had me beat
Cause every thing I tried to see just left me blind

Never knew what I was missing, all my dreams were out of view
Couldn’t see what I was chasing, till you came out of the blue

I know that good things can take a little time
But baby you were worth the wait
I’ve spent a lifetime just waiting for a sign
And what I finally found in you, I have to say
Was worth the wait

Never saw it coming, no I didn’t have a clue
I was on my way to nothing, til I found my way to you

I know that good things can take a little time
But baby you were worth the wait
I’ve spent a lifetime just waiting for a sign
And what I finally found in you, I have to say
And what I finally found in you, I have to say
And what I finally found in you, I have to say
Was worth the wait
You were worth the wait
